fme is pleased to announce the development of a dqMan edition for the administration of Veeva Vault applications. Veeva Vault administrators, developers, and supporters can find updates on the development progress and release plans on the dqMan site and on dqMan’s Twitter and LinkedIn social media channels.
Extending the range of dqMan for Documentum to Veeva Vault
Administration of multifaceted content management solutions is rarely simple. fme recognized this common problem, and set out to build a solution based on our years of working with OpenText Documentum users. After extensive testing, revision, and validation, in August 2022, we publicly released dqMan, a unique, enterprise-grade solution for OpenText Documentum users to administer, maintain, and program the Documentum Content Server.
This year, we’ve expanded the capability of dqMan, connecting it with another premier solution, Veeva Vault. fme has been a services, development, and migration partner with Veeva for many years, so we were able to add our in-depth understanding of the Veeva Vault platform to extend dqMan with another powerful platform and scripting language. dqMan’s Veeva Vault Edition uses:
- Veeva Vault Query Language (VQL) to access, retrieve, and interact with Vault data
- Metadata Definition Language (MDL) to create, describe, update, and drop Vault components that form its configuration
The development of the additional dqMan version, designed to provide customers with an efficient administration solution for their Vault applications, is in full swing. Users can expect the full release at the end of Q2 this year.
What’s in the Veeva Vault Edition of dqMan
Among others, users can expect the following features:
- Easy navigation through document types and objects
- A simplified way to generate and execute queries

- Cache query results for generating aggregated reports
- Display metadata of documents and objects
- View and export content, renditions, and attachments of documents
- Compare metadata of objects
- User-friendly way to create, handle, and execute MDL commands or scripts

dqMan’s OpenText Documentum Edition was very well received by the OpenText Documentum use community, and we expect to see a similar response from Veeva Vault users with the release of dqMan’s Veeva Vault Edition. As experts with each of these platforms, we understand the challenges of the time-consuming and repetitive tasks required by routine work. We are excited to provide a solution that will help users become more efficient and productive, and look forward to any feedback and comments Veeva Vault users can provide.
