fme is a service provider for the IT sector and was founded in Brunswick, Germany, in 1995. We have an international presence with a European subsidiary in Cluj Napoca, Romania, and U.S. one in Danbury, Connecticut. In addition to our headquarters in Brunswick, we also have sites and offices in the German cities of Munich, Frankfurt (Main), Cologne and Düsseldorf.
We currently have a workforce of approximately 16 employees in Romania and about 150 employees in Germany. In total we are about 180 people globally, and we’re constantly expanding.
These three letters are an amalgamation of the initials of the company’s founders, Frank Mittelstaedt and Michael Engelen.

The objective is knowledge acquisition that enables better operative or strategic decision-making with regard to corporate objectives.
Configurable clients and predefined architectures generally provide a means for developing applications both rapidly and at low cost. However, there are many use cases where this approach does not work. Some scenarios are just not accommodated by any existing standard software, or the effort of meeting the requirements is simply too great. And when it comes to performance, design, and usability, the capabilities do not always satisfy the users’ needs. This is where the customized solutions from fme enter the stage.
