docspread is a new and secure mobile product suite for accessing electronic enterprise content at all times while on a business trip, a sales call or a meeting out of the office. docspread does not require permanent internet connections and offers a very user friendly iPad style offline use of documents. Rather than converting the iPad into a regular ECM client, docspread tackles the challenge of integrating content into the clients' processes with the help of mobile devices. A particular docspread app always focuses on and is driven by a typical business process such as sales and marketing and provides fully automated preloading, updating and encrypting of all company documents needed for that particular enterprise function. This way users can be sure of always having instant access to all the latest documents which they may need for their special purpose.

docspread uses proprietary interfaces as well as the open CMIS standard to connect to ECM repositories. docspread can be run in different constellations, such as private, public or hybrid cloud environments. A well thought out security concept ensures that all documents are individually encrypted and only temporarily decoded for viewing, so that access security cannot be breached through tablet loss or theft. On demand similar apps can either be created by fme or by the customer for other specific functions by using the docspread store programming interface

Documents and their metadata can be transferred from different document repositories, be it a simple file share or a sophisticated ECM system, such as EMC Documentum. With fme's docspread sync documents are automatically transferred encrypted into the so called "docspread store" used as an exchange area for documents and located inside a protected area of the organization. Once connected to the docspread store, documents can then be transferred onto the mobile device. They remain encrypted until actually viewed in the app and thus protected from unauthorized use.
